Yarrow & Plantain First Aid Salve

Yarrow and Plantain are two herbal allies known for their powerful wound healing. Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) helps to stop bleeding of minor cuts and scrapes. Yarrow salve aids in the rapid healing of burns, abrasions, and bug bites. Plantain (Plantago major and Plantago lanceolata) is a powerful astringent and anti-microbial used topically on all types of skin wounds. Plantain salve is popular for drawing out infection, stingers, and slivers. Combined, Yarrow and Plantain make a powerful first-aid salve.
There is no typical salve dosage. Apply a salve as needed but remember that a little salve goes a long way. Applying the salve one to four times daily to affected areas is appropriate. Salves have a shelf-life of about one year stored in a cool location. They tend to melt into a liquid at high room temperatures which is why storing in a cool location is necessary.
